Alien? Artist? Frank Bay mystery!

A very strange thing has been happening at Frank Bay in recent days. Someone, unknown who, has been seen very, very early in the mornings building mysterious objects out of rocks and coral. Eerily similar to figures that regularly appear miles away on the far side of the island at Drunk Bay. An uneasy tension has fallen over nervous Frank Bay neighbors. Who is this man? What is his message? Is it a man at all? If you’re on island soon, don’t miss the chance to watch at least one sunset at Frank Bay. But beware. Somewhere close by, a mystery (man?) with rocks and coral is planning his next creation.

VIDEO ALERT: What does Frank Sinatra have in common with St. John real estate? Meet Marty Beech, tomorrow on OnStJohn TV!

It’s probably not the same guy I saw “building” these things in Vancouver, B.C. last fall, but pretty cool. While in Vancouver, I didn’t think I’d have the patience for rock balancing but maybe on STJ. :)

The same type of thing can be found on the beach below Mohegian Bluffs, Block Island. Maybe it the island equivilant of crop circles!

I love beach sculptures! Cindi and I used to go to Bodega Bay in California and check out all the sculptures that people would build out of driftwood and floatsam.
You have to admire the ingenuity and patience of the artists creating such interesting art out of left over pieces of stuff most people wouldn’t think twice about.

The only art you will ever catch me creating is a beer can pyramid…but not on the beach :D

I can’t remember what these are called at the moment…but you frequently find them on the Ramhead hike for example…They are supposedly hikers language for where to find trailheads or something. Having sailed bareboats all over, I’ve often noticed them on uninhabited islands and assumed they were a way previous visitors said, “I was here!” We always just add a rock or coral piece to the top and move on feeling like we’ve said, “We were here too!”

RE: Video Alert Do you mean Marty Beechler? Nice guy. He showed us some lots a few years ago when they were affordable, but we didn’t buy. Our mistake. I have a picture of myself looking at one lot in Upper Carolina, standing on the edge of the road looking straight down.

It’s simple — we just need to find a huge natural rock formation that resembles the miniatures being left behind, and that way we’ll know where the alien mothership is going to touch down.

From what I understand, the rock sculptures are made to bring good luck. They are all over the island of Aruba. It is an old Indian tradition.

    Also, this site is GREAT.
