Big nuts

We love reading obituaries. You never know what you will learn. Case in point. Coco de Mer is a popular, ultra-luxury villa in Peter Bay Estates. We always figured it just meant sea coconut, or maybe it was the name of an exotic palm. Turns out Coco de Mer is indeed the name of a very rare palm tree, and the tree produces coco de mer nuts, the biggest nuts in the world. (35 pounds.) How do we know this? We read obituaries.

I saw Ms. Tashjian on the Johnny Carson show when she brought the Coco de Mer. It really does look like a butt. I don’t know if I’d name my villa after it :) I’m surprised that she didn’t call her Nativity scene a Nutivity! Thanks for the laugh this morning! I love this website!
