A good pair of binoculars can be good also, especially for the sobriety impaired cause you can lay on your back and let the pool deck spin beneath you as you gaze at the stars with one eye closed for balance..

WIth good quality 10x50 binoculars you can see most anything that a medium priced telescope can see and carry them with you to the beach. Don't get anything above a 10x50 in a binocular cause they get tough to handhold and keep steady...or maybe its just me :)

Can't wait to get to Bongo and try yours out. We have one at the lake and never really see much at night. Sobriety definetly plays a role! If you use it in the day from the deck, you get wild people with their cloths off on the boat or ACTS you really didn't want to see. We have seen it all. It is great for seeing if that is your friends on the boat down the cove!
