Gift Hill? Gifft Hill? How ’bout just Give…

St. John has one high school (which pretty much guarantees you win the football trophy every year)  and it is the result of the merger of the elementary Pine Peace School and the 7 through 12 Coral Bay School three years ago. This is the same place where Kenny Chesney put on an impromptu concert a couple of  months ago. Gifft Hill School, which actually is now called St. John School on Gifft Hill (which is as confusing as the whole Gifft vs. Gift, but in this case it’s Gifft) is a private school which, as all you parents know, means it is not a free school. But more than half of the students get financial aid, which is funded largely by the school’s annual auctions. The 21st Annual Pine Peace Auction is Saturday (that’s tomorrow) but you don’t have to be on-island to get in on it. Dinners, cooking classes, boat and fishing trips and vacations in places like Aruba, Dominica and Hawaii are all up for bids, as is some pretty groovy art in a silent auction. And you can bid online here. Come on. Look at those faces. Without some support, they may just end up wondering around Cruz Bay Park spitting on people. Check out the auction items here.

I like that dinner for 8 thing! Could use that while down there in November? Let’s see, me and Charlie, Ruth and Ron, the Wonton and her crew, seems like 8 people to me! :)

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we would have never known about the auction without on-stjohn.com…you guys do a great service for the people of St. John!
I’ve registered and hopefully they get back to me in time to bid…I’ve got my eye on something groovy!

I hope the auction is a huge success cause I sure don’t want those little rugrats spitting on us when we step off the ferry ;)

On behalf of the school, I would like to thank you for posting this article. Question, does this count towards your required community service time? Oh, I forgot, we are not suppose to talk about that :)

I havent seen Luna in the past 2 trips. Is she rehabilitated or still spitting with plastic bags on her feet? Usually, it just takes a trip to JJ’s and I can check on her in the park.
Going to checkout the auction right now!
