Constant innovation here at On-StJohn

Frankly, my idea of the perfect Beach Break is a camera on a tripod pointing at some sand and waves. But our Creative Services Dept. (Russ) is constantly pushing for innovation. So we are trying a new technique in the next couple of Beach Breaks called Boat Cam. It’s nothing more than Russ straddling the side of a dinghy and me going ‘round in a circle…a kind of 360 degree virtual tour. It’s really not that great, what with wave and wake rocking us back and forth, but until I can figure out how to hang Russ from a gimbal, it is what is it. (By the way, “it is what it is” is the most frequently-used phrase by anybody building a villa on St. John who is in the final weeks of finish work. It basically means “We’re broke! Okay! I’ll accept this!)

No, I disagree that the saying when building is, “It is what it is.”

Absolutely NO! The most popular saying whey you are building is, “It will be done when its done!”

Pretty skillful, not dropping the camera and all. Almost as important as not dropping your drink.

I think “Boat Cam” has a lot of potential….
and the “creative services department” knows how to get the job done…Russ will do great.

I hope he bought that dinghy dinner first.

I just reviewed Beach Break: Francis Bay. I think the bobbing of the “boat cam” adds to it… and… anytime I want to feel a little queasy, I’ll watch it…

My brother…half-naked, straddling the side of a dinghy. That’s enough to make any sister proud!
