Beach Break: Jumbie Beach

This week’s Beach Break is Jumbie Beach (named after the Jumbies, or ghosts, that prowl the island’s forests late at night.) Access is by wooden stairs down from the North Shore Road just before you get to Trunk Bay - there is parking for a handful of cars off the road - or by boat. Depending on the tide, it is either a great beach, or a great LITTLE beach. Take a two minute trip to Jumbie, stair free, below!

Thanks Guys! I think I’ll have to try and get a spot at Jumbie on the next trip. But, I think those Virgin Islands Pale Ale guys might be a bit upset by that Heinekin sitting there on the beach!

Never been to Jumbie. Can’t convince the crew to take the stairs. I hear “No stairs on vacation” from the back of the Jeep.

If I don’t get a vacation ANYWHERE soon, I may burst. You thought I was in a bad mood yesterday? Our townhouse complex had tires slashed on 30 cars last night. I’ve been up since 4:00!

we spent our last day on the island at Gibney and Jumbie. Loved them both. We got a spot at Jumbie and didn’t take anything but our towels down the stairs with us. It was great, we were there about 2 hours just floating around in the water. There was one other girl on the beach that entire time. Nice day.

What is that boat all about? I recall seeing it from Trunk.
