On-StJohn TV: Palm Tree Charters
We first met John Brandi a couple of years ago when he was working at Noah’s Little Arks, “slinging dinghy” as they say. We got to know him, and eventually dubbed him the John Wayne of St. John. (though he doesn’t know we call him that.) This guy is one of the coolest guys on St. John… and how he and his wife, Sue, got to St. John is another one of those great stories. They had a 10 year plan, stuck to it, and made it happen. And now he runs his own power boat charter business. From Long Island to St. John, meet Palm Tree Charters’ John Brandi.

Is it just me? The video stops playing about 1/3 of the way through. Tried it 3 times!

We’ve done day trips with a captain several times and it’s always a great day. Half the fun of the islands is getting out on the water. There are still places where you can look up at the hillsides and not see a single man-made structure. You can almost imagine what it must have been like to the first explorers. We haven’t used John and Palm Tree Charters yet but will definitely give them a try next time.

We did use John in July 2007 and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a private charter for a day trip. His price is reasonable, he has great knowledge of the area, has a really nice boat, has a great personality, and is willing to talk to you, listen to you and make sure you get to do what you want to do. If you are looking for a family type trip this is the man to use. You won’t be sorry.

John is a class act. We booked a trip with him and another charter (we had 10 in our group)in the third week of October.Everyone agreed it was the highlight of our vacation. I felt like we were out visiting an old friend. What a great day on the water!
