Infusions fizzles out. What’s next?

Cruz Bay’s jazz and martini bar was a short-lived experiment. Infusions, which opened last fall with comfy leather sofas, air conditioning and photos of Hollywood stars on the walls at the old Oscar’s location (across from Lime Inn) is now officially gutted and gone. But wait! Look at this. No sooner was it gutted, than something new is happening there. What’s next? We’ll ask around.

Too bad about Infusions. The business was opened by a couple who moved down last year from Rhode Island. So much for your chance to taste its signature infused vodka, the Jolly Rancher. (Got about $2.5 million? You can buy the entire building.)

When you can’t make a drink for a local (well known) bartender…..or can’t pronounce a particular brand of Vodka….or shut that bartender off when there is 10 minutes to go (he could finish his drink in seconds)..one would tend to get the cold shoulder from the locals…..perhaps they did the same with the tourists……word spreads fast and furious, good or bad….my two cents

That’s too bad. We enjoyed our evening here and would have gone back. But even as I was sitting there enjoying my EXTRA LARGE martini I thought to myself, nope I don’t see this making it here long term.

I heard nothing but bad things about this place on the coconut telegraph so i’m not surprised in the least that it sink like a leaking dinghy. what i did find surprising was that they were asking $175,000 for the business. I wonder what it sold for ?

Kirk, I think most people who start businesses on St John think that they’re worth more than they really are. Hell, most also stateside. I think my business is worth over 7 figures, but reality tells me…..know what I mean. You’d have to be out of your mind to buy a business that hadn’t even been around a full 12 months.
