OSJ finds a more stable beach

We’ve moved our server to another beach. We’ve had some problems with our Website host lately, and we apologize. For now, we’ll stay with the same host, but are promised we’re on a much better server. (I am not making this up. Recent email from said host: “The server you are on appears to have become unstable. If you’d like we can move your sites to a more stable server.”) No, no! Please, leave us on the unstable one. We’re also anxious to know if the switch from Windows Media Player to Flash has been an improvement. It seems a BIG improvement from where we sit, but let us know if it’s better for you.

I like the switch to Flash, it reinforces my laziness quite well. :)
I’m glad you’re on a stable server now… there are plenty of opportunities for instability otherwise.

I’m likin’ the new video player. I was not a fan of the old method. by the way, i never noticed a problem with your server, so, as a casual daily reader, your problem-server was transparent to me.

Well to be the contrarian I liked the old video better. Now it just shows small screen where before I enjoyed a larger picture. Of course it may just be a setting on my end…

ROGER THAT …. the smaller window is not a good thing…really enjoyed being able to go full screen. Yes I know all you Mac people are wetting your pants, but Windows does have some good features. WOW, glad I got that off my chest !

Rob7 - If you click the little icon second from the right at the bottom next to the volume control, it launches the video in a new window. From there you can size it however you want. (Sorry to be the computer geek but it’s what I do!)

Hey RD - I tried that last week and did get a larger screen too but the quality isn’t nearly as good - it becomes very blurry as it is enlarged.

I liked the old video better because it could be viewed larger and with better quality.

By the way, I use Macs and was able to play the old version of the video using Quicktime.

Tracy - You can resize the window so it’s something less than full screen and it takes care of that.

Won’t resize for me. I like WMP better.

I like the new version. I am a Mac user but I couldn’t play the videos the old way. I could be that I am just not a very talented Mac user.

Rob7 - you need to resize the whole window. Once you click the button that makes the video go full screen, click the “restore down” button at the top right (next to the X that closes the window). Once you’ve clicked the “restore down” button you can click and hold on the edges of the window and drag it to whatever size looks best. (Again, sorry to be so geeky.)

The comment I want to add was that I really liked the early beach break videos without music. The different sounds of each beach really add to their different characters. Just a personal preference I have….
