This is Slimman’s
Due to an onslaught of email inquires (one), we figured we’d post the 411 on Slimman’s parking lot. It’s across from Wharfside Village. 90 minutes of parking for $5. $10 all day. Evenings 5-10 pm is $10. It’s been a great addition. We don’t even do the loop through town looking for parking anymore. (Note: A woman recently approached me as I parked at Mongoose Junction and said “Good morning! Will you be shopping with us at Mongoose Junction?” Don’t know if she worked for one of the stores of if it’s her job to police parking there…which is reserved for only Mongoose customers. I said “Naw, I’m going to Tortola for the day, but this is a great spot!” Some people have no sense of humor.)
Is Slimman’s ever full? Well, yes and no. Even if it looks full, pull in and ask. They can pack cars into that lot like the Capt’n Vic. Slimman is also a park ranger. And he’s funny. And he’s slim. He’d make a great interview. We’ll work on that.

And he’s also in the band Paradise People! He’s the best! We met him at Trunk one day when he came by in his Ranger cart and stopped us to say “didn’t I see you at Infusions last night” Which he did. He told us he was in Paradise People and they would be playing again at Balcony, so we went there as well. It wasn’t until nearly our last day on the island that we figured out he was ALSO the parking lot man! Good guy. Would love to see an interview with him.

Worth it for the peace of mind knowing your car will be there when you get back AND it will be bootless. AND you won’t have a ticket.

This is why we’ve always rented from St John Rent a Car. They’re right down the road from Slimmans there, and if their lot is full, you can park by The Fish Trap. If you’re lucky, while parked there, a truck will park against your jeep and you’ll smash the signal light while trying to back out of your spot.
Not like that happened to me or anything

We used him several times in late Feb/early March. He has got to be the happiest business man (in terms of attitude) on St. John.

Slimman is great! We parked with him on most of our trips into town last May. He is as nice as can be and the price is worth it to avoid the hassle of looking for a place to park.
