Beach Break: Gibney Beach

Can you say “Perfect?” This, in our opinion, is the BEST beach on St. John. We know there is some kind of No Trespassing parking you can do to get to this beach, although we’ve never done it. For us, getting here is by dinghy or by swimming around the rocks from Hawksnest. These difficult-to-get-to reasons mean this beach almost never very people-lated. A long stretch of soft, white sand, and the canopy of huge palms make this beach absolutely beautiful. This is a Hollywood beach and, however you figure out to get here, it deserves to be on your list.

Thanks for the Beach break. Light snow is in our Ester forecast, so a trip to Gibney was just what I needed. Enjoy!

With snow coming down this morning….thanks for the Gibney Beach Break (complete with Boat Cam).
Me thinks the Production Department of On-St.John needs a waterproof housing for his camera….

How’d you get Ravi Shanktar to play Gibney Beach? Maybe OSJ is truly bent on world dominance after all.

We’ve parked at Peace Hill and walked down. It’s not too far.

Gibney is my favorite too. Would like to be there today instead of Boston. It’s too damn cold.

Speaking of Hollywood, it’s going to be only 75 today in Los Angeles. How do you folks put up with cold…..

Hey Panky, you’ve got me beat by a day! I thought I was the only one crazy enough to count the days this far out. I started somewhere around 110 and it can’t get here quick enough. Have a great time.

Barb, I actually started counting New Year’s Day….. Have a great time too. I’ll be the one in the grey On-St John tee shirt at all the bars……

90 degrees here in south Georgia. Can’t wait til May when we’ll be churning up Drake’s passage. I remember Gibney’s from when I lived on St. John 2002-2004. Is the pavilion still there?

Glad to know that others appreciate this beach like I do. I was at Gibney last year and I miss it every day. Thanks for the break!
