Yeltsin dead, Lindy not

Reports of Cruz Bay fixture Lindy’s death are premature. He is alive and well (okay, maybe not so well, but every bit as happy as always.) Here he is, sitting in Cruz Bay this very morning. This guy is friendly and harmless, but how he survives on a diet of Heineken and cigarette butts from the street is beyond me. He won’t hurt anyone. But I wouldn’t want to trust him with Russia’s nuclear bomb codes.

Glad to hear that Lindy is still with us. It wouldn’t be the same without him.

Shame on Joe Jackson for starting that rummor about Lindy dying - he was probably just taking a little nappypoo. I saw him this morning sitting on the curb with a Hineken in one hand and a joint in the other, he was giggling up a storm!

actually this one got started because cid called the EMTs to come take a look at him cause he was lights out in the road by connnections and they hauled him away to the clinic. i hear he sure looked dead, but apparently he was just even more comatose than usual. this is part of a new trend for him to be found lying in the street in early morning hours which does not bode well for his future survivability. for now tho dead lindy is better dressed and more active than he’s been in years. apparently he should have tried dying years ago.

I saw him shortly before noon yesterday after 10 people (including Roland) told me of his purported demise.
I usually wonder why he’s laughing, but yesterday and today I figured it was because everyone (including me) was so darn glad to see him. No doubt everyone he saw bought him a Heinekin.
Lindy does have a home and a family who look after him as well as they can. Many of us have family or friends with heartbreaking illnesses such as this, and people do the best they can.
I also have to mention that while you might not want to trust him (or me, for that matter) with any nuclear bomb codes, if you could get him to play the piano for you I’m pretty certain that you would be astounded. If you are ever walking by the church across from Connections and hear amazing piano music, look in there and see who’s playing.
    Rock on, Lindy.

lindy is no longer allowed to play the piano in the church any longer after repeated times of breaking into the money church box, however, also am glad to see him walking around his useual self.

This website is so darned funny! Does anyone remember when Lindy was hit by a car a few years ago? The Tradewinds (or Sun Times?) had a great headline- something like “You Just Can’t Kill Lindy”…I’ll have to look it up. I happened to drive by right after he was hit (up by the house with the awesome Christmas lights just above Cruz Bay) and there he was, poor Lindy sitting there all bloody but still smiling.
