Honk like you mean it
Helpful advice in a welcome book spotted at a rental villa recently: Honk once means “attention.” Honk twice means “thank you.” We would ad this. If you hear an air horn frantically blowing again and again accompanied by the sound of a big truck engine gearing down as you approach a curve, it means “slow down and get as far left as you can.”

I might add those massive trucks hauling construction material are oblivious to any horn sounds. It means absolutely nothing to them! There is NO stopping they are on their mission of paving paradise … so just move out of their way and FAST!

What does one do when going up the hill by the Westin when it’s raining and you are behind one of those water trucks going 5 mph delivering water to Bongo Bongo, is there any horn signal for that situation!

Seriously good information. I’m glad you didn’t say “don’t panic” though, that would just be silly.

Always found it interesting that rental cars couldn’t make it up Jacob’s Ladder but all the locals could!
