Bongo melon
We grew a watermelon. Three of them. Nobody, including us, remembers planting a watermelon, but there they are. A vine snaked its way out of a planter, past the hot tub and down a wall to a little corner of the pool deck where nobody goes. And that’s where they grew.
If you see something at a house that looks ripe and edible, eat it! (Unless it has wings or legs in which case you probably shoudn’t.)

Surprise! Happy house warming. I just can’t believe they grew.

Speaking of Bongo Bongo…was re-reading some of the construction blog the other day. There is some interesting and funny stuff I had forgot.
To enjoy this construction saga starting in June 2002…BTW that was when they were young and naive.. go to:

Check with the landscape crew. We had a few growing at our home in St John as well, and it turned out the landscapers were planting them for their families.
