Beverly’s out and about
Here’s new Commissioner of Tourism Beverly Nicholson Doty being interviewed by CW Channel 11’s Julie Chang at NY’s South Street Seaport during the Caribbean Fair this week. Part of us hopes she said “St. John? What’s St. John?” Reminding 13 million people about St. John makes us nervous. Big props to Beverly though because she’s out there. Just keep telling people how great St. Thomas and St. Croix are. She can mention St. John, but only if she says there’s an “are you cool” test you have to pass to get in.

I think it’s more than a little bit ironic that you guys are nervous about about St. John being overexposed.

suds, STJ is totally different from the other islands….it needs to remain that way.

I believe a concerted effort should be undertaken to immediately delete St. John specifically from any and all future maps. Or at the very least, rename Little Thatch to lets seeee oh yea, St. John! Ah, enough thinking for one day, hand me another Heineken immediately if you would pal.

I agree with Suds. I’ve often thought, for running a website promoting St John, that you guys try to play both sides. You also built on St John because you loved it there; but since then you’ve had more complaints about the island and more ideas for change than we can keep up with. Geeze, have a drink and relax!

Ouch! Did someone get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Perhaps you should take your own advice….
Russ and Jeff are great….alot of what they write about is done tongue in cheek with much humor. I think their website is quite entertaining, while also being informative.
Yeah for On St. John!

OK… here’s how we handle it. When we speak lovingly of St. John, we should all try not to be too specific. Case in point… A friend I worked with for many years noticed that we were gone for a month or so every Jan and Feb. I had always talked about St. John so she and her husband decided that it was a place they wanted to visit.
They returned from their trip with stories of places and people I had never heard of…They had spent their vacation at St. Johns, Antigua

The only way to survive on St. John is with humor, when that is gone - you need to be gone - cool or not!
