Just for you Ruth!

Yes, each of the five tiers were a different flavor and a different filling.

Starting from the top of the cake:

Tier #1: Genoise (light sponge cake) with fresh mangoes and pastry cream filling

Tier #2: Chocolate ganache with chocolate ganache cream filling and Snickers.

Tier #3: White Velvet Butter cake with peanut butter cream filling. Inside the filling was a combination of Reese's cups and Butterfinger chunks.

Tier #4: Vanilla cake with pastry cream and fresh strawberries.

Tier # 5: Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache cream and hand made praline.

The icing was butter cream and the entire cake was decorated with a cascading display of peach, mango, coral and white orchids, roses, tea roses, callas, and spider orchids.

The cake was fully assembled without the flowers prior to the delivery to the villa. The five Tier cake had to be ready to go and delivered before the ceremony began.

A special sized box was created to hold all 5 tiers in the back of the Rubicon. (That's the style of the Jeep.)

Once the cake arrived at the villa, it was stored in a guest cottage where it remained safe and cooled by the air conditioning.

The flowers were put on to the cake in the guest cottage.

10 minutes before the cake was to be displayed it rained briefly. Now the cake has to be transported down 5 flights of marble stairs and across the wet marble dance floor to the cake table!!!

After much praying and worrying, all 5 tiers arrived in place and were brilliantly displayed. I have to say that it was a beautiful cake and personally think it was Shay's best in design and taste.

I will gladly post a picture for you after this weekend.

I think there's something wrong with me. I've been dreaming about this cake.
Do you think Shay put it all together in five tiers and then transported it all the way up to Upper Peter Bay in his car or something? Or do you think he assembled it there? I just can't imagine the whole scenario. It sure would be nice if we could get some PHOTOS of The Royal Wedding and The Cake!
I do know that Todd and Christy are honeymooning in Ireland. I just don't know as much as I'd like to about this cake. What were the five flavors anyway?

It is a lovely lovely afternoon for fifteen St. John weddings. Best wishes to all the brides and grooms.
Sheamus-Shay's cakes are brilliant. I looked at the pictures around eight times today. I sure would like to try some sometime!
