I haven't used a basket a day yet that the handle didn't come popping out, making it tip forward and spill. But technically, that's not breaking since you can pop the handle back in and it works again (for a brief moment before doing it again). Just be glad you didn't have to wait in line for an obscene amount of time, cradling the basket with your arms wrapped around it like a baby. Oh, and one other thing: they don't stack as easily as the old ones, so usually at the end of the aisle the pile of baskets is every which way...making the line area more congested than usual.
