Easy Yawzi
Yup, the Lameshur sign’s pretty clear I guess. Pointing the other way is the Yawzi Point Trail, which we think we will hike next week (and take you along too), mostly because the trail is only about a quarter mile long. Even we should be able to handle that. Yawzi Point, according to the great book St. John Off the Beaten Track, is named after some horrible infectious tropical disease called yaws, because people who had it were sent here to die. Nice, huh!

Because of the technology developed in recent years, it has been found that the anti-serum to Yaws exists in the combination of chemicals found in Pain-killers…..Take some along on your hike guys…be carefull!!

Where did they stay…in the long gone Yawzi Point Hotel? They must have, because as the sign clearly indicates…”No Camping”. On second thought, if yaws was that horrible, maybe they didn’t last long enough to do either.

So you’re allowed to die there but not camp there? Interesting.

Actually easy hike. When we were at Lamshur this year I kind of walked that way and just continued. Short distance but some nice views. If I ever get off my a** I’ll have the pics up from the hike.
