If you told a 5 year old to draw an island, this is the island he’d draw. A hump of sand surrounded by blue water with a palm tree stuck in it. This is a “boat day” stop (you’re planning one of those, right?), and it’s a pretty spectacular place. Sandy Spit, below…

Hey, how come there isn’t any ice on that bottle of beer in the sand? Sorry that was mean. I read about how hard it was to get that shot. Turned out great! That video makes me want to book my vacation. I don’t know why, but the steel pan music is always so much better live. Thanks for the beautiful beach clips.
Jeff, Is this the same Sandy Spit that is just off Jost Van Dyke and is part of the BVI ? There was an islnad that looks just like this one that Foxy was raising money to buy to prevent any development. Either way, this is a great place to go to.
That’s MY island!!! I discovered it first!! Everyone is welcome to go though….You’ll see my flag proving it’s mine…I drew it in the sand…..on the beach……uh oh….ooops.
Simply one the most beautiful places under the Caribbean sun. My wife and I rented a yacht last August and had the island to ourselves. I highly recommend a visit to Sandy Spit for a romantic getaway.
