What’s your wallpaper?
My desktop is cluttered. To my dad, that literally meant his desk top. To me, and all of you, that means your desktop. But all those icons melt oh so peacefully into a constantly changing backdrop. And it is ALWAYS a St. John photo. So, what’s your monitor wallpaper? This is my current favorite. (Recognize that palm?)
(You don’t have to post a picture. Just tell us. But if you do…make sure it’s no more than 400 pixels wide. Otherwise, the site you mash it!)

currently mine is something I stole from someone on VIOL, Ken I think. The back of 2 beach chairs facing out to the sea at Trunk. And I hide my icons on the desktop to keep it neat and orderly
August 25th, 2007 08:02
I have one of marybeth’s really cool palm tree pictures!
August 25th, 2007 08:27
Right now it is an incredibly sexy pic of Kenny taken at his concert in Columbus, Ohio. I have been alternating with photos of our next villa rental in December! Can’t wait!!!
August 25th, 2007 08:46
Mine is from Ivans and it is a shot of his boat with Ivan’s on it.
It was a pic from Frugal Travelor, when they were on Jost last Sept.
It reminds me that he is only a phone call or plane ride away.
You boys are lucky to be able to go down so often. Granted you have a villa and a business.

Right now it is just my cruddy Mac images. Any chance you could put up a full size version of this for those of us who don’t have a great photo of the island?

Mine is Ivans boat and a view of White Bay……I feel closer to home
August 25th, 2007 20:18
THIS ONE, now that you gave it to me!
August 26th, 2007 06:00
Hawksnest??…….Do I win the grand prize!!?
August 26th, 2007 08:03
For my work computer, I stole my wallpaper from VickiH (I think) on viol. It’s a shot of Cruz Bay Harbour at night. I get lots of comments on it. Of course I fess up and let people know that I did not take the picture!
At home, the a desktop wallpapper is a shot of entering Hawksnest that I took in June.
August 26th, 2007 10:09
At home, mine is a saved frame from the webcam in Cruz Bay of me and Pete drawing a heart in the sand as the sun was setting one evening. Our good friend Bandit (a/k/a KC) was with us. It takes me right back to some really great times filled with laughter.
At work, it’s a picture of Rendezvous Bay taken from our deck at Vistaero.
August 26th, 2007 10:11
I change it between various photos from our trips to STJ. Currently, it is a close up of the crazy chicken that visited our villa every morning looking for handouts. She was not shy.
August 26th, 2007 10:21
OMG, we have the same wallpaper.
(I think that is the token shot everyone must take. It’s a great one.)
August 26th, 2007 13:25
We just got a new one - The view of Coral Bay from the cottage we’re building. It’s called Anchorage Aweigh and the view is spectacular.
August 26th, 2007 15:12
Mine is a shot of Maho Bay between two palm trees with a large sailboat inside the two palms. I took this shot in April 2006.
August 26th, 2007 15:15
Sandy Spit of course!

From Robert:
As you know we are buiding in Coral Bay (Bo Atabey)…so our desktop changes as we get new pictures from Roy our builder. We also used the web cam pictures from Coral Bay until it was changed to boring nothing happening blurry Hurricane Hole…. Here is the desktop de jour for us…..
August 26th, 2007 17:36
From Bud:
Here is my laptop wallpaper. It’s taken from the clearing/overlook on Cinnamon Bay trail. Always a great spot to have a rest and a drink of water. (especially on the way up) Hey, here’s a good idea…how about a “hiker cam”. I’m sure most visitors never see some of these “hike to” places. I really enjoy On-St.John…check it out at least once or twice a day.
August 26th, 2007 17:44
Maybe we should post a FREE WALLPAPERS link.
My picture is at Trunk Bay, and it is the photo we ended up chosing for the Carefree Getaways DVD box:
http://www.bluetangproductions.com/carefreegetaways/
A little cropping, a little photoshopping, a little extra manmade blue sky, Bam. Beautiful box cover.
August 26th, 2007 19:16
Jeff,
You and Russ are another villa in Coral Bay?
I guess Bongo Bongo was not enough
August 26th, 2007 20:12
Oh no, no, no, no maybe, no, no.
Bo Atabey is a whole other dude’s project. Great Website.:
http://www.gooseneckwatergardens.com/BoAtabey7.ivnu
Make it viral! (You I-T guys know what I’m sayin’)
August 26th, 2007 20:32
Mine on my work laptop is of Cruz Bay and Wharfside Village taken from the walk over from Gallows. I look it on good and bad days and the boats in the bay bring me back. At least until the next time were there with our toes in the real sand.
August 26th, 2007 22:06
Home computer #1: stolen pic from the forum of Honeymoon beach with 2 empty Carib in the sand.
Home computer #2: picture of my 9 year old swimming underwater at Honeymoon.
Work computer: stolen pic form the forum of Cinnamon Bay in the water looking at the beach. Someone must have taken this in their dingy.
Priceless!
August 27th, 2007 07:52
Cinnamon Bay from May of this year - with Cinnamon Cay in the back. It’s a shot of my 2 year old son and I sitting in the sand right where the water breaks.
August 27th, 2007 08:22
Currently, I have the cold bottles of Carib offered here - http://caribbeer.com/multimedia.htm#wall
as my wallpaper.
Blatant advertising, yes, but it does the job for me.
August 27th, 2007 08:38
Mine had been one STJ pic or another for a while, but I’ve gone off topic and now have a picture I took at South of the Border in July. Huge, cheesy, picture of the main welcome sign. I love it!
August 27th, 2007 10:26
Like so many of the responses so far, my wallpaper is STOLEN!!!
I currently have an incredibly serene and peaceful underwater shot of a lone jellyfish (pinks/purples/whites) floating in a sea of blues fading from bright carribean blue at the top to deeper hues toward the bottom.
A really great shot… and I can’t even remember who I stole it from. Yikes!
August 27th, 2007 13:04
I alternate between two - one is the view sitting on the beach in front of Ivan’s - the other is the view from Bongo Bongo. (stayed in April and loved it!)
August 28th, 2007 06:23
Here’s some of the St. John pics I have at home - link to this site and help yourselves!

August 29th, 2007 12:38
