Beach Break: “That beach by the airport”
We’ll go out on a limb and call this Lindberg Beach, although technically the beach is actually in front of two hotels, Island Beachcomber and Emerald Beach Resort, which we’d stay at in a heartbeat if we were doing an overnight on St. Thomas. This is the park just before the airport, which is a GREAT place to stop if your travels from St. John went really well and you ended up getting to the airport way early. Finish your barge beer here, stroll the beach for one last taste of paradise, and pack an extra bottle of water. A liter of water is enough to wash off four sandy feet.
One caveat. We shot this on a day when a kid was having a birthday party in the park. There are many reasons I don’t have kids and at the top of the list is the fact that kids just make a whole lot of noise. So instead of a relaxing music bed, here’s the park by the airport, set to the endless cacophony of screaming little kids. Enjoy!

TODAY’S BEACH BREAK
IS NARRATED
BY JEFF
Kids make too much noise you say? And what, exactly, did you do when you were 8? Build little models of houses and then go over budget on them?
Wow!
Look at me busting out the mean comments so early in the morning.

Definitely not your best beach break! The high rises in the background spoiled it for me and the kids are not my idea of paradise either!!!! Stick to seclusion!!

Great idea for a beach break!
As for the kids, two words: duct tape.

You all are terrible! The kids are all happy and laughing. If they were crying and wailing than I would understand. I like this beach break. The only thing that makes me cringe is seeing the tops of WAPA’s smokestacks over the hill. I hate WAPA.
Wait, didn’t the movie Jaws start out with happy kids playing on the beach? I guess I can see where that would make you shudder.

I’m terrible too. Recently left a restaurant because the only table was next to a table with 4 kids at it. Ix-nay on the ids-kay.
My own daughter was no restaurant “gem” when she was a kid–and I remember being self conscious about all the noise she was making at Frances Bay one time–but now It’s all about me!
I will admit the children in your video did not annoy me because they were happy and having fun.

screaming kids… screaming seagulls. They all sound pretty much the same… and it’s not PC to throw rocks at either to make them go away…

I’m bringing my 4 1/2 year old son to STJ next April. Screeming is one of his favorite things to do at the beach.
