Gov takes field at Yankee stadium Governor John deJongh watched the Yankees beat the Mariners 10-2 at that big Virgin Islands Day at Yankee Stadium thing yesterday. Here’s the gov during a pre-game in-field ceremony with Tourism Commish Beverly Nicholson Doty,Yankee pitcher Jose Veras, and the other guy is former Yankee (1967-1973) and native Virgin Islander Horace Clarke. As an Virgin Islander I’m happy to see that our home was represented by the Governor and other top Officials, but I live in New York for the past 25 years, work in the Bronx for 19+ years (somtimes @ Yankee Stadium) and didn’t know anything about Virgin Islands Day until two days before the game. Whoever promoted this thing did a sucky job. AT LEAST THE YANKEES KICKED BUTT!!!
