Gov takes field at Yankee stadium

Governor John deJongh watched the Yankees beat the Mariners 10-2 at that big Virgin Islands Day at Yankee Stadium thing yesterday. Here’s the gov during a pre-game in-field ceremony with Tourism Commish Beverly Nicholson Doty,Yankee pitcher Jose Veras, and the other guy is former Yankee (1967-1973) and native Virgin Islander Horace Clarke. Nice flag. Where’s the beer?

As an Virgin Islander I’m happy to see that our home was represented by the Governor and other top Officials, but I live in New York for the past 25 years, work in the Bronx for 19+ years (somtimes @ Yankee Stadium) and didn’t know anything about Virgin Islands Day until two days before the game. Whoever promoted this thing did a sucky job. AT LEAST THE YANKEES KICKED BUTT!!!
