Kirk lives
If you’re a regular at the usvi-on-line.com forum, you probably remember a frequent poster named Kirk. Well, in July, while visiting St. John, Kirk decided to go for it. He went home, sold most of his worldly possessions and gave away the rest, and moved down full time last month. And he hasn’t been heard from all that much since. That’s because he is ON St. John, and not so anxious to READ ABOUT St. John these days. But if you’ve been worried, trust us he’s fine. I mean really, look at him. That’s a happy face. (We were buying.) No job, not looking, living at Tamarind Inn and, so far without a vehicle, Kirk hasn’t left Cruz Bay even once in the month he‘s been here. And despite all that, he can still carry on a relatively lucid conversation. Next up for Kirk? Figuring out how to get is pet macaw sent down here. That’ll require some paperwork and an airline, ‘cuz even a macaw can’t fly all the way from Ohio.
Now we need to track down another forumite turned islander. The still frequent poster Pia. Drop the dime Pia. We‘re in the book.. But don’t call after 6. I’m in the sauce after 6.

Wow, good for Kirk! I would love to be ON St. John someday!

BRAVE MAN!! I would love to have the fortitude to do just that! Unfortunatley I have a couple of things holding me back. Oh well! I will just have to be happy visiting! (For now!)

KIRK! What, no interview? Perhaps he had held up too many of those bottles to be interviewed
Pia’s in England at the moment! Back soon.
This is fun!

Tell PIA hi for us. She and I met our husbands at the same place in Kansas. Not at the same time, but maybe close. We moved to STT when she moved to STJ. We left, she stayed. Sigh. Don’t move to STT just go straight to STJ. My advice for the year.

WTG, Kirk! It’s encouraging to see people follow their dreams. As a Kentucky native who is sick and tired of snow and cold weather, I know just how you must have felt. There’s not a day that goes by that my hubby and I don’t talk about doing the same thing in about four years once we are “empty nesters”. I wish you the best of luck!
P.S. Pia is a great source of info on TripAdvisor.com, too. Don’t stop posting, please.
(Woo Hoo! Beach Break tomorrow! Beach Break tomorrow! Woo Hoo!)

Kirk had the guts to do what us mere mortals would LOVE to do but haven’t quite figured it out! I would need a job when I got down there or I too would be in the sauce — after 6 AM that is!

Thanks for the kind words everybody. My internet connection is hit and miss right now, i’m at the high tide right now.
I did work for a few hours this morning helping install 4 hip rafters.

A few hours installing hip rafters? You must be totally exhausted. Then I’d suggest a Painkiller. Go ahead. You deserve it. And, have one for me while you’re at it.

Kirk, working? Already? I guess those single rooms at the Tamarind Court get old after a while. We’ll be in town over Halloween and will spend the last two nights at the Tamarind. Good luck!
Cheers, RickG

Hi Kirk,
When we met at the Beach Bar in July you said you’d be back soon. I really wasn’t sure you would pull it off. Good for you. SOTB will be there in about 6 weeks. We’ll look for you at the BB.

Where is Pia from? I always thought she lived on the island?
Kirk, you give me hope!
