The fate of the Spit Palm
Did the Sandy Spit palm survive or is it gone? With the help of Captain John Brandi, the On-StJohn.com news crew is on it. Armed with nothing more than a fully-packed cooler and sandwiches from Baked in the Sun, we are about to embark on a trip through dangerous international waters for a first hand look at this story’s tragic or heroic outcome. Stay tuned. Details tomorrow.

Good luck and give our (Pam, Bill, Heather, and Madison from KY) regards to Capt. John. We had our best day off STJ with him in July. He’s a great captain.

Did you steal my question? Are you stalking me on other forums? Or am I just a paranoid freak that drinks too much rum?
September 18th, 2007 10:01
Yes I stole your question. You wanted an answer didn’t you? Yes I am also stalking you. you took a different route to work this morning. That made me angry.

I’ll be waiting patiently for the answer to this yet unanswered question. (I’m so glad you two are willing to brave the warm, inviting international waters with merely a cooler, sandwiches and camera in-hand to bring us this story)! Must be rough…

Can’t wait to see the new report. We also love John. He has been with us diving with Colette and 6 paq scuaba several times and was wonderful helping get my daughter off to camp in the BVIs this summer. Tell him hi from the Georgia family with the actionquest sailing kid. John and Colette even offerred to go pick her up if anything happened and she needed someone. Luckily she had a great time and I didn’t need to call but is was priceless knowing that someone she knew was close by if she needed anything.

WOW, your life can not be that boring. My life is not nearly interesting enough.
Thanks for getting me an answer, though. You are the best!

LOL…you are too funny, Jeff! Seriously, that poor palm is in our Christmas pictures (for this year), we need to have it saved!! Could you all throw a shovel and some extra sand on that boat trip to the Spit?

Thank you for the update, and thank you for asking Xislandgirl!

Multiply square root of the compass direction in which wind blows, eivide by the angle of the palm incline and then multiply by the number of beers you’ve got left and you’ll know life expectancy of the palm.

This might be risky but I’m betting if Kurt survived, so did the palm.
Now I will go knock on wood and throw salt over my shoulder.
Oh, and it’s so nice to not be the one known as “stalker” any more.
September 18th, 2007 15:28
And by Kurt, I meant Kirk. Obviously.
