Small plane dem

Note to fall travelers. US Airways has slipped Airbus 319’s into the Charlotte-STT-Charlotte route. This is a small plane best suited for Chicago to Omaha service. And the airline has obviously put in as many rows as this plane will hold. Sure, it’s low season and all. But gee. When you see Airbus 319 EOW, the EOW means extended over water meaning an FAA variance to fly over water, provided there’s some land someplace close. (Plummeting from 6 miles in the air to solid ground is apparently the preferred disaster.)

The good news is there are 3 rows in first class, not 2 which increases your odds of an upgrade by 50 percent. But when that fails, don’t do what we automatically do and pick an exit row. There is no more room in these exit rows and they are non reclining seats.

And another thing. Those flight attendants get more aggressive with the US Airways Visa Card announcement every single month. They must get some kind of commission. Exciting news! US Airways has teamed up with Bank of America to offer you the US Airways Preferred Member Visa Card, now with one billion free miles automatically credited to your account just for signing up today! (We’re getting cranky. We have to go back to America tomorrow.)

We will be on the US Airways/Greyhound from Charlotte the day after Thanksgiving. Hopefully we will back to the regular size planes by then. I think its time to build a caretaker cottage at Bongo and just stay there all the time. This would alleviate the constant flying back and forth and aggresive credit card scam.

Seatguru.com, my boys. Go there to check all the seating options on all planes.
    And, buy a travel pillow.

Then, pick a window seat (fight for it if you have to) and then just sleep.

We are flying the Charlotte/STT route two days after Thanksgiving, and I am with you Jay, hopefully they will have a place for my long legs to go. I just would like for the plane to be on time- this have NEVER happened to me before with USunfAIR! If it happens again on this trip, we are going back to using Delta.

Gee, I thought “EOW!” stood for what you say when your knees smash into the table in front of you in those crowded seats!!

Wringing hands…feeling anxious…wondering how we’ll get our daily On-St. John fix with you guys off the island. Please reassure me you have a plan.

Oh, and, have a safe trip.

    Hmmm,

I think this is a sign from above. Why not just stay on St John year round? We surely will need help moving the army boat, and there are two new sharks :) Have to hit that gym and beef up those legs to swim fast enough though. You guys continue to crack me up, and I am a local.
