Root beer is here!

Those tap room guys can’t stop tinkering. Their latest experiment? Root beer brewed on site. “The first batch was a crowd favorite, from the sugar craving local kids to the nostalgic adults,” says co-owner Cheech. They’re on their second batch now and Cheech says they’re also in the process of creating a ginger beer and a tropical flavored soda as well. And for high season, they plan to have the sodas on draft as well as some Cruzan rum to kick up their new concoctions. Cheech says “Root beer with a splash of Cruzan Vanilla rum…can you say root beer float with a kick?” 

In case you’re curious about the science of root beer, they say the main ingredients are wintergreen, vanilla and sarsaparilla. But the whole recipe is a Tap Room secret. We don’t need to know. Just pour us another one already.

   Yummy- I’ll have to give that vanilla root beer a try in 51 days. The rum should give me a little pep in my step while I shop at Mongoose. The Tap Room is on my “to do” list. Thanks guys!

   Thanks. Now not only do I miss the Caribbean, I am thirsty too. I need a fix. Tickets from ATL to STT are starting at $800, yikes! Of course that is for late October. I gotta start planning these things in advance. We will definitely check out the Tap Room since we have ‘heard’ so much about it from you all. Have a great day!

   I was there last week Got to meet the guy’s and Megan the employee of the decade. It was a good time they had the root beer on tap but it wasn’t ready to sell yet. so I stuck with the real thing.

   Can’t wait to try the root beer float! I haven’t been there yet but it’s on my list from February. I hae purchased their tap online and my husband loved it.

   This is awesome… I’ve been trying to figure out how to spend a little time there with their VI Pale Ale with my non-beer-drinking spouse and friends. Now they can have a Cruzan root beer float whilst I have a draft Pale Ale.

    I would wager any ammount of money that I’m the only person in my company with a metal VI Pale Ale sign nailed to the wall of my office. I can’t wait to get there next summer

    I would love to try home brewed ginger beer……..I love ginger beer and my friends have to bring it back from Jamaica for me……cool that these guys now have it closer on STJ
