Hooray! I’ve been anxiously awaiting the Jeepcams! Will they always be on Mondays? That would give us something to look forward to on Mondays.
I liked seeing how the car barge works, having rented our Jeep on St. John. Thanks!
Good job Jeff and Russ, just one little problem… when my German Shepherd heard the horn at the beginning he thought someone was in the driveway, and went ballistic …….it’s way to early for that
I forget how it gets dark early on island. It was about 6:00 when you got to STJ? On island, right is wrong and so is not being there! Thank you for reminding me of what I am missing and boy am I missing it!!!
OK. We used Courtesy in July. I guess I’m going to have to add this to my list of “ominous signs found onstj.com” that tell me we must return soon. (Were you guys following us around?)
I’m busy trying to find a villa now for the holidays, but it’s obviously a very busy time not to mention expensive. The spouse nixed the idea of spending $5,000 per night for a lux villa in Catherineburg. Guess he’d rather eat and pay the bills. He’s so darn practical.
Do you guys head to on island AT least once a month or once a week?
I love the jeep camp and I am guessing that is the new bldg at Red Hook ferry on the right?
It has been 2 yrs for me since I have gotten on island
Great feature, timely and helpful. We are trying this for the fist time at the end of October. This really helps set the expectations of our gang. It looks easy!?
excellent work - i wonder what the
cost is to bring a rental form stt
to stj - we always used a rental co
from stj - but it does sound better
if you rent a jeep on stt, then drove
to red hook, take the bardge, then go to
your villa!!!
get job again-can’t wait to see road cam!
Courtesy is our favorite rental company on-stjohn. One HUGE benefit, especially in high season: You can park in the lot when you go to town.
We take the passenger ferry over — much faster and less hassle than the barge. You can easily walk up to Courtesy, but if you’re renting a villa, the greeter will take you up to get your car.
Cool guys! I’ve wondered how that car fery worked and now I know. Great job. We will hve ot try that sometime. I think I could back that thing on there.
Barge ride was good, but what I’d like to see is the ride from the airport to Red Hook. I did it last year and got completely lost. Missed the stops I wanted to make and added an extra hour to the trip.

Thoughts:
When you hung the first turn on STT, I got nervous. You were on the wring side of the road, you know.
Secondly: NONE of the people exiting the barge in an orderly fashion are from NJ, NY or NC. Trust me on that one.

Wonder if any GPS systems work there as well?
