Meet Jimmy

This is Jimmy, an in-town fixture you’ll probably see at the Beach Bar or maybe JJ’s, who lives on a boat in Cruz Bay. If you do run across him, and the opportunity arises, strike up a conversation with him. He’s got endless great stories, some of which may be true. Sometimes he’s a little agitated, but mostly not. And if you talk to him for awhile, he’s sure to leave a smile on your face.

You perhaps forgot to mention that Jimbo - Ambassador of good will that he is - is mentally ill, sans meds and often loonier than a honey-ham sandwich.

    Thanks.

Can’t say I’ve ever bmped in to Jimmy.

Hey, can we get a Bongo story soon? ;)

See you in 40 days! Will you guys be down there then? We arrive Friday after Thanksgiving.

Ya gotta love Jimmy! My favorite story is when he was a kicker for the Jets, he ran a touchdown back and while doing a somersault into the end zone was shot six times. The best part, he got back in the game and then played for the Sixers later that night.

I have known Jimmy for years, he is a St John icon, and not a Luna or Lindy. Who that lives on island is not insane? Ive always enjoyed his stories, cracks ya up when its a war story involving cartoon characters and prostitutes from Amsterdam. I do not know Jimmy’s real past nor future but has never caused me or the island any harm. I always say hello to him and always get a warm grinning face back. It is damn hard to beat his stories once he gets going, makes for a great happy hour. It is St John, and Jimmy has been here longer than most. High five to the on-st john guys for covering all aspects of the island, wont find this content in the St Thomas paper.

    Very nicely said, Jeffe.

Jimmy is a good soul. His smile has brightened many of my days over the years.

He is pretty loony. He always yells at me when I go to JJs - so I don’t go there any more.

Is this the same Jim that used to work at Maho in the mid 1990’s?

He is the same Maho Jim.
While he may be looney, aren’t we all, he is harmless and a very kind man.

I loved when he was walking around wearing a t-shirt that said something like ‘I’m a twelve year old girl on MySpace’. I agree - he is harmless!

Jim is not so harmless. I have a couple of unprovoked run-ins with him were he became physically violent. He also is racist & especially inappropriate to women when he has been drinking.

I have a beer and a smoke with jimmy everyday.
Yes he can mumble a bit, but he’s a good guy in my book.
