The food is simple but it's always a step up from eating a can of beans at your campsite. The lights and fans are on all night, so people sit up late and read, play cards, talk, and drink (BYOB). Speaking of trees, is anyone familiar with Bob Garrison aka the "Trail Bandit?" He is profiled in the Dec. issue of Backpacker magazine, about his quest to rehabilitate unused trails in St. John. I tracked down his site, which includes maps of "secret" trails not found on current USGS maps. I'm planning on finding some of these when I'm on the island in Dec.
