Mosquito Bites changes owners

If you didn’t get to Mosquito Bites in Coral Bay since our interview with the owners aired, you’ve missed your chance to have a piece of Karen’s key lime pie. Karen and Fred are out in what sounds like a dispute with the landlord. The restaurant remains open and operating under the same name. We don’t know the new owners, but we’ll check it out.

In the meantime, Karen and Fred wanted us to pass on their thanks to all of their customers who‘ve patronized them since they opened. Fred tells us they’re working on finding a new location. We’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for the update. We really enjoyed picking up sandwiches to take to the beach when we were there. I will be anxious to hear about the new owners and possible new location for Karen and Fred.

Sounds like a typical St. John Soap Opera, “As My Stomach Turns …”

It seems to happen often, the ‘landlord disputes’. It usually has to do with money. I am disappointed and will hopefully find Karen and Fred where ever they are and have some good food! Thanks for keeping us updated.

So, that’s two owners in one year? What ever happened to Casper?

How odd? I second Lysa’s question about Caspar? I’ll have to ask the first person I hear on island with a Boston accent.

    Cheers, RickG

I talked to Casper in July at a Wedding…he was working with Mathayom! Super guy…will really miss his presence at Mosquitos! He sure made a killer breakfast!

Oh, man. Now I’m really mad that I didn’t jump on the bus and head over for some Key Lime Pie.

Good luck Karen and Fred. I hope you find a new place soon.

Wonder if she’s share her cookie recipe? I didn’t get one either.
