Jeep Cam: North Shore Road, Part 1
Jeep Cam drives the North Shore Road. It’ll take 3 or 4 installments to get from town to Centerline Road. There’s not as much to point out along the way as in-town drives, so just enjoy the curves and hills. Today’s Jeep Cam: Mongoose Junction to Caneel Bay Resort entrance.

I LOVED THIS!!
Last February my husband and I walked this route (from Gallows Point ) every day!
That first hill was a KILLER! But it was better then going to the gym !
Thanks! Can’t wait till February 2008!

Oh my gosh—-I honestly felt I was in the Jeep with you. For over 43 years I’ve been enjoying that ride and now I can do it every day thanks to your Jeep cam! I especially enjoyed the tummy tickling effect as you spun around the corners and raced down the hills. If you haven’t already recorded the trip past Cinnamon Bay, could you please drive into the entrance and then out again past the parking lot. That’s my home away from home!
Can’t wait for the switchbacks after Trunk.
I thank you and my tummy thanks you!

It’s like I was there. At the end I kept thinking, how can he just stop in the middle of the road like that? And then I remember how common that is on island. Thank you for these jeep cams. It makes us feel closer to the island than a picture.

Jeep Cam rules!
After you turned “Jeep Cam” off you probably drove into Caneeel, parked, hoisted a cooler, and walked to Honeymoon, right? I know I would have.

How fun! 1 week to go and this gets me “in the mood”.
October 26th, 2007 07:45
Loved that one.
Since I’ve driven North Shore Road every day on my 2 trips, I really feel that I almost “know” the road. It was a lot of fun to be able to put myself in the seat and know where the bumps and turns were ahead of time.
Great ride!

October 26th, 2007 09:53
Jeff, I have a question…..no, a request actually. Is there any way I (we) can get a copy of your “Jeep Cam” video so we can see it on a larger screen size? If it involves e-mailing, I would be up for that! It’s such a great ride, I’d like to re-enjoy it on a larger screen!!
Thanks for the views and the ride! They are fantastic!

Just like the first few days on island, I still had that momentary/involuntary oh my God they’re in my lane flinch at the other vehicles coming around blind corners in the right side lane.
Great job.

Bert:
Hmmm. Let me think on that.
How ’bout we wait awhile and we’ll put a few Jeep Cam drives on a DVD.
-Jeep Jeff.

Jeff — thanks for helping these last 35 days go by a little fast– I gave you a warm fuzzy on the USVI On line BB
October 26th, 2007 12:20
That would be cool a Jeep cam drives on DVD…….I can think of a bunch of people that would love that. Being that you guys have quite impressive DVD’s if I say so myself……:)
October 26th, 2007 12:39
I would definitely be interested in ordering a DVD too (or several)!! We have newbies coming with us next time, and I would love to give DVDs to each of them.
October 26th, 2007 12:50
Thanks Gromit!
We’re here to serve. Or surf.
October 26th, 2007 16:37
Jeff,
I most certainly would be interested in
SEVERAL DVD’s of the Northshore drive.
Bert,
Your Christmas suggestion is just perfect! (Sure do miss you in the Sandbox)

October 26th, 2007 20:22
You make me so nostalgic for STJ!!! Soon come mon, though,,, and great video. CTC
October 26th, 2007 20:41
I would buy some jeep cam DVDs for sure! There are a few other video cam’s on U-tube of STT and STJ, but of course do not compare at all to your professional jeep cams. I am very impressed and enjoy every minute! Got my visa ready! Burn some copies, I need it to get thru this winter!
October 26th, 2007 21:55
AHHHHH!
My favorite road in the whole wide world! Can’t wait for the North Shore Trilogy to Centerline. May the Force (or jeep) be with You!
October 26th, 2007 21:56
Man, was that great! I’ll be watching that one over and over. I just love driving on St john… it’s like an amusement park ride for adults, but with the thrill of real danger at every curve. Thanks!
October 27th, 2007 18:08
My favorite feature thus far! What fun. I would be interested in a Jeep Cam DVD also.
October 27th, 2007 21:09
Would love to see a jeep cam up Gift Hill - we are thinking about renting in that area on our next trip - but even though we have been to the island three times - we aren’t quite sure where that is…
