Villa Video: Haiku
This is a paid ad, but the comments below are our own.
Out of all the villas we’ve been in and/or had the pleasure to actually stay in, this is one of our all-time favorites. It is neither fancy or pretentious. It is very comfortable, and just a really cool place. Haiku is actually the very first architect-designed house on St. John, dating back to the 1960’s. It has been lovingly cared for over the past 4 decades…and it retains its St. John charm. Staying here is exactly what staying on St. John should be like. It’s an “open house” although the owners have succumbed to modern demands like a good kitchen and air conditioned bedrooms. And it’s in Great Cruz Bay. It doesn’t get more convenient than that. We seriously love this house. Please consider it. It’s a trip back in time. But your laptop will still work.

That’s a cool looking place. Thanks for sharing it with us. Who rents it?

I think I was at this house in the late 80’s/early 90’s for a dinner party of some sort.
Wish I could go back.

Neat place.

This might defeat the purpose, but I have to ask?
Other than the bedroom…where’s the TV?
IT looks like a fun place, but I don’t think my group could handle that degree of rusticicity without me being able to show some modern amenities…TV, stereo etc

I love that place. It’s been on my list for a while now. But what would that open living room have been like during the great mosquito storm of ‘07 ??
