Jeep Cam: The shortcut
We’ll get back to the North Shore Road next week, but this is news you can use now. A stretch of road between Centerline Road and the South Shore road has very recently been paved, and this can shave a heck of a lot of time off your drive. For example, if you’re staying on the South Shore, when you’re coming back from Coral Bay, take this road. A better option than Gifft Hill Road and a way to entirely avoid going through Cruz Bay. And the same for going the other direction. From Centerline, turn left at the lower entrance of Pastory Gardens. In exactly 4 minutes, you will be at the top of Jacob’s Ladder and the South Shore Road.Buckle up. Thanks to 21st century technology, you’re about to do it in 2 minutes, not 4. The shortcut, below!

Is it just me? I can’t get the video to work, it stops after the waving car rental man.

it worked for me XIG.
Too many decisions on the shortcut! left, right, I don’t know. I might stick to the roads I sort of know!
I like your “downhill driver” rule though!

Thanks for the shortcut! Can’t wait to try it in February 2008. Is this shorter than if you take 104 to cut into Centerline?

Whew, I should have taken some Bonine first.

Cool………….thanks for the ride guys……….that was fun….:)

Kind of hate that you gave this away since I live on this nice quiet road and really not looking forward to fast cars driving through here. Still think Gift Hill is a better option to get to the South Shore from Center Line.

WHOA!! What a ride…thanks guys!

Great Jeep Cam! The second half of the trip looks like Beth Cruz Rd (starts just before the big and freshly paved switch back). Any idea what the name(s) of the roads are on the first part of the trek?
Thx again!

Thanks again for the ride! If anyone has the time, the Bethany Moravian Church is a beautiful old building.

I love the Jeep-cam! I can’t wait for the latest drive every week. But I have to say that I liked the “old” music better…it was more upbeat and cheerful

Gosh Guys, that looks like a cool shortcut and all, but I am not sure I can follow all those turns at that high rate of speed. I can’t find the button to run it in s l o - m o.
Going in the other direction, where would you turn right off of the South Shore Road?
This could be helpful to us as in a couple of weeks we’ll be in South Shore Villa.

patr:
From the Westin heading toward Cruz Bay, go to the top of the hill and turn right. Then take the first right after that and go straight on.
For South Shore Villa I’d guess you’re better off taking Gifft Hill Road to/from Centerline. Gifft Hill Road intersects with the road that goes to Fish Bay.

Sure was a fast ride, but I think Gifft Hill is a much better ride!
