It seems DPNR has all but officially confirmed that the boats are related to a local company/person doing business with the cruise ships. They are not owned by Grande Bay or Noah's. It is a disgrace to our island as far as I am concerned and it seems there is an even further disgrace yet to be uncovered as the latest rumor has it that the Dept. of Tourism sponsored the purchase of the boats somehow.

I would guess Gallows Bay has something to do with this! They certainly never cared that they blocked views and caused other hardships for their neighbors. How you going to sell "BIG $$$" ugly concrete condos with a view some would consider rustic charm? These new owners are accustomed to high end services and not views of St John's colorful characters changing their clothes and being buck naked or taking a smoke on the bay in front of their property.

Sirenusa condo owners will probably want the town of Cruz Bay moved! (spoils the view!) Remember Grand Bay is right on the harbor. It's their view that is being spoiled by the colorful boats.

At one time the plan was .. when the barge dock was finished in Enighed Pond, the ferry boats would dock at the old barge ramp and Cruz Bay Dock would be for pleasure boats and charters.

Guess in the 30+ years that it took to build the Barge dock, somewhere the plans got changed!

We can only assume these dingies are for the use of the Grande Bay condos, since they were powerful (this may be a euphemism) enough to get the boaters moved. The idea is that Cruz Bay will be a swimable beach ...nice idea, but I wouldn't set foot in that water unlees all the sewer lines in lower Cruz bay were replaced.

So there hasn't been any press on this? All the permenant moorings are gone? Is it legal to anchor now for a day or two? It's kinda sad to see them run off the old boats, but if its available as an anchorage now for day trips and charters this might be a good thing. If you are chartering its actually tough come into Cruz for dinner or shopping. I sure hope it's the crap that's going on in Florida were the rich homeowners(siren usa etc) just don't want to look at boats. We need more info

Wow, the bay looks so empty! I didn't realize they were moving everyone out like that. I kind of liked the odd assortment of boats moored out there.

I'll give Dick Cheney a call and those dingy's will be sunk, bombed or some such very soon.

Dick doesn't play boy games. Believe me, I've hunted with him.
