Beach Break: A cleaned up Cruz Bay

You may remember Operation Storm Cruz Bay a few months ago when DPNR came through with backhoes and dumpsters and cleared Cruz Bay Beach of the mishmash of dinghies, rowboats and kayaks. The beach really does look good these days. But that old metal boat is still refusing to leave. This was shot just a couple of days before the mystery dinghies showed up. Cleaned up Cruz Bay, below!

    good morning
    wow-what a clean beach.
    everyone did a great job,
    but i thought they were
    going to move the boat.
    maybe i’m wrong. still,
    the beach looks wonderful.
have a great week, its hump day!

I like the old metal boat! Not everything can be “perfect” in paradise.

I must admit it does look good. I think they should leave that old metal boat…it adds a certain “pirate patina” to Cruz Bay.

It really does look better. Trip number 11 for us in less than three weeks. We can’t wait and are bringing a “newbie” with us. Looked like everyone had fun at the Beach Bar.

Yo Rob, I am still bitter about that loss too and I bet when you walk on that nice clean beach you can still hear this verse from one of the losers:

The crowds at the Beach Bar howl
    “One more for the scow”
At the edge of Cruz Bay harbor

That old military boat is very HEAVY and anchored in the sand pretty good, it will need a barge to pull it out. I’m surprised Noah’s or someone else hasn’t tried to turn it into their office headquarters, bar & gift shop. It could be the Willy-T in the VI.
