Now THAT is First Class

If you’re flying US Airways and you happen to luck out and get bumped up to First Class, you might be pleasantly surprised by what you find. US Airways has, at least on one St Thomas route 757 that we know of, replaced the two rows of cracked gray leather seats with three rows of lie-flat seats. And that other picture is the control for said seats. Like an 8 year old in my dad’s brand new ‘76 Olds Ninety-Eight, I played and played with those buttons going up and down and in and out all flight long. Wow. That was fun. The food still sucked.

My Dad had a Olds 98 as well, I had forgotten about those buttons. Thanks for the memory!

My dad had one too! I loved the light up mirror and tissue box in the back seat. As kids, we were so impressed!

from the wear pattern on the left side of the seat control panel, it looks like about a million other “8 year olds’ have played with it too. Ah… the perks of First Class.

I flew 1st class home to Raleigh from Newark earlier this summer. It was a scheduling thing and I had to convince the corporate travel desk that sending me home in 1st class for $250 more was better than spending $900 to switch airlines.
In any event, I spent the 90 minutes we were on the plane giggling and sucking down drinks. I would just sit there in my big ol chair and giggle…then order another drink. I got home mellower than I ever have.
1st class is awesome

I got real lucky and got bumped up to first on Virgin America from LA to Dulles. That airline totally kicks ass. The food, seat, service was top-notch.
