It’s official: The holidays have begun

A two day Christmas Music Festival included a cute little kids parade through Cruz Bay and Santa on a truck. And kids led by Festival organizer Steve Simon. (This just looks like sugar high chaos to me.)

When I first lived on St. John in 1991 Santa and his elves arrived at Cruz Bay Park to hand out presents. Then they went to the beach for a “break” and were arrested for pot…and paraded back past the kids in handcuffs!!! For a long time afterward “Santa” wore a necklace made with those letter beads that read “Santa Was Framed”. One of my favorite St. John stories!!
