What a treat! He took us to see Sandy Cay up close and personal (only, Quenton, to answer your question, it was so crowded New Year's Day, that we could've hardly made it to shore through all the boats and bodies if we needed to abandon ship!) He is so entertaining and we looooved his stories, so did the kids. They haven't stopped talking about him since! He can even talk about hockey with the eight-year olds! Gotta love that! You know, the Gilligan's island story reminded us of the "Christopher Columbus landed here first" stories. Truly a little slice of heaven. Imagine mooring nearby, floating in on lounge chairs and having the crew members swim beers out to us in waterproof backpacks. I'm tellin ya, that was an experience to remember! Thanks Jeff, for featuring it. For Quenton: We've been to STJ twice Fourth of July week and now we go in January...TIP: If your budget allows, go the first week of JAN, Xmas crowds are gone and the weather is perfect...low-mid 80's and no humidity. However, Thanksgiving falls in our rainy season so weather can be unpredictable. Christmas brings the crowds, high prices and the Christmas winds. I was at Pastory Gardens last night for dinner and nearly froze, by St. Johnian standards. Winds were kicking up and even though I had jeans and a sweatshirt on I was still chilly. We put the quilt on the bed last night up here on Gifft Hill. Also, the Christmas winds tend to make the seas a bit dicey. Was thinking about sailing to Jost, left her on the hook instead. Gary Quenton,

Sandy Spit is like no other place in the world, just look at the magical color of the turqouise water againest the mound of sugar sand & palm trees, it's simply paradise! I loved the music, plus John tells some pretty good tales. This is my favorite video so far! Late summer is great because the crowds are gone and the water is at its warmest, calmest and clearest. We were there in August and had a terrific snorkel with John Brandi at the wreck of the Rhone. The water was so calm and clear you could snorkel the whole wreck and see clearly 90 feet down! Answer for Quenton:

Great shots. Some of our son's ashes are buried on the far left of the beach under a bougainvellia bush we planted on Dec 1994. He chose this site and we always try to go back around his birthday. Didn't make it this time do to Sandie's breast cancer. Hopefully we be back soon. Thanks for the video...God bless...Bill Hi there. Great shots.
