Jeep Cam: Great Cruz Bay Road

Great Cruz Bay Road is the Great White Way of vacation rentals. And it has two other notables. Speed bumps, and walkers. Tons of each. And caution on both counts! We’ll point out a dozen villas, and we’ve probably missed at least as many more. Feel free to contribute to the Villa Strip extraordinaire. Great Cruz Bay Road, below.

Good work! The last house. oceanside, under construction before you turn up to Kissmet is mine. Figured I’d talk you guys into a name contest if you are interested when I get closer to completion and give away some time at the villa to the winner.

No need for a contest, Mike. As anybody who knows who you are would agree, your next house already has a name.

    It is “Keep Left.”

(Not Villa Keep Left, not Casa de Keep Left, not Keep Left Vista, not Keep Left del Sol, not Caribe Keep Left…it is just “Keep Left.”)

That piece of junk jeep you drive needs new Friends of the Park plates too. KEEPLFT.

I’ll take a week in January 2009, thanks.

That was freakin’ awesome. I think I’m booking a villa in the next few days that’s off GCB Road and it’s nice to know, in advance, that my passengers will be beating the hell out of me for renting a house on a road that’s that narrow and bumpy.

I love torturing them. It’s my revenge for doing all the legwork while they drink themselves into oblivion.

What are the breezes like in that area? We’re hoping not to repeat the experiences of the oven otherwise known as Pocket Money Hill

    Sweet.

Do you happen to know if the villa Maria Breeze is the white one on the left side near Kismet? Anyone? The villa is rented by Seaview Homes.

Very cool. The house on the right side where all the cars are parked and the guy waves you on is Belvedere. We rented that house in 2004 (I think).

MaryBeth, I’ll split the cost of Kismet with you! We can share the butler that comes with the house. (ha ha)

Love it. Great way to start a Friday on a miserable rainy day here in the NE. I like the contest idea, but have to agree with Jeff…since I’m seconding it, can I get a 1/2 week?? I’ll even take a long weekend! :)

Ahh, Kismet! We stayed there in May 2006. Adrian and Michele are GREAT! I remember that drive well and my friend and I actually ran/walked that road during our two weeks in Great Cruz Bay (first week Las Brisas Caribe, 2nd week Kismet for their wedding). Thanks for bringing back the memories. You guys are the BEST!

First post here, have enjoyed all the jeep cams - great work guys, and can add a wee bit of info here. When Morgan Point is displayed pointing left, slightly ahead to your right you see a parking area that is located just before the bend in the road. This is Villa Maria, where we stayed in June 2006. Also, while I don’t recall the exact location, a few houses past Colibri is Coqui, also on the right side, IIRC.
