My husband is the Volunteer Coordinator at Acadia National Park and we were already planning to volunteer when we visit St. John in March. Will ask our villa owners to include the flier in their info pack, if they haven't already. By the way, my Mom used to make chores sound like a priviledge: "You MAY do the dishes." A housekeeping employee and I watched from a golf cart for almost five minutes as it tracked a scent right across the lawn at 5:30 in the afternoon. Slipped into the bush....gone. It's about 3 feet high and 4 feet long with a tail that's at least three feet long. Velvety black from head to tail. The thing is real and may not be dangerous, but is proudly fearless - as any self respecting panther should be. No, actually they set up heat senors that take photos of what passes underneath it. Maybe pinpoint the areas the cat has been and set the cameras up there- then wait and see.
