When I flew Delta from ATL to STT a few months ago, I got some stale crackers and processed cheese spread with some cran-apple cocktail (that I had to arm wrestle the guy next to me for!)

When I'm starving and trapped on a plane for four hours I'd pay $7 for some nitrates and fresh-ish cheese!

(One time on American my flight took off three minutes after 8 p.m., which is the deadline to even buy food. By the time I got to Vegas, I ate the first thing I could find in the airport. Luckily it was Ethel M chocolates.)

That looks half way decent.

I bring PBJ's and milk. That salad may cause issues down the road if you catch my drift.

Oddly, I had a rather wonderful food service surprise two weeks ago. On a flight from Sarasota, FL, on Continental Air (I didn't even know this airline existed anymore!), to Cleveland, we were served a lunch. Not fancy but totally shocking. And free. Oh, I got some peanuts later in the flight, too.

I vote for Continental. Too bad they don't fly from Chicago to STT. :(

Just returned from the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas on an AA 777. Culinary choices were:

A can of Pringles

3 Musketeer Bar

or Oatmeal Raisin Cookie

mmmmm . . . . we chose 4 Barbie sized Chardonnay's for $20

The restaurant on the airport grounds- you have to walk to it outside on the sidewalk- has some of the best food in the usvi. And that is coming from your truly, a foodie who makes trips to France for culinary delights, and lives half my life in Whole Foods in the mainland. Get to St. Thomas early when departing and get your full there- you won't be disappointed.

yeah that actually looks decent. we're flying first class on delta in november so I'll let you know what they serve...all I really care about is the free booze, if I drink enough it won't matter what they serve me to eat.

Hmmm...that actually looks somewhat edible.

I always pack food for us when we fly though, because you never know what they are going to have, even to buy. I usually pack us each an orange, some pistachios, and a simple sandwich with no smelly or messy ingredients on crusty bread. It's enough to get us where we are going. Usually.

We usually fly United or American since we are in Chicago - American definitely has the better food choices. (Note: "Better" is a relative term here.)

We try and eat in the airports rather than buy stuff on the plane because there are more choices. (Note: "Choices" is a relative term here.)

Oh, who am I kidding - it all sucks.

I had that "antipasto" thing in December, not too bad at all, but I really didn't have a choice because they had nothing else to offer!! They had ran out of everything else!!? Ran out? Don't they know how many people are booked? On the way home our flight was supposed to have a "meal". They passed out packages of pretzels (well I think it contained maybe 5 mini-pretzels). My husband asked what the meal was going to be and the attendant said "I don't know...what are you having when you get home" WHAT??? Glad I packed some protein bars.

"snack-box-of-crap" Sounds like Delta from ATL the last time we flew. Crackers, evil processed cheese, evil bread-like substance, evil air.

We fly home 1st class in August and the bastards don't even serve food up there! I spent NOTHING to get that ticket (FF Miles)! I WANT FOOD!

Oh...they offer free booze?

My bad. It's a'ight.
