Tigger needs your prayers

Low Key Watersports mascot Tigger is very sick. Over the course of barely a week, Tigger went from happy-go-lucky Tigger, to being completely paralyzed. Can’t move any of his legs.
After a battery of tests, the best diagnosis is something called Coonhound Paralysis. If that’s what it is, Tigger may be down for months, but he’s got a chance at recovering. In the meantime, Tigger’s human Mom, Anne Marie, has been spending full time caring for him. Ann Marie says her Dad is flying in from California to take over so she can get back to work, where the staff has been minding the shop. If anybody has any insight on Coonhound Paralysis, Ann Marie would love to hear about it. In the meantime, your wishes for a speedy recovery are appreciated.
Oh, when I said Tigger was totally paralyzed, that wasn’t completely true. He can’t move a muscle, except the one that wags his tail. That one’s working overtime.

We too have a Golden and have taken out pup to Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine for various things and we live 3 1/2 hours from there. I have talked with Ann Marie before about Tigger. Purdue is very good about talking with you or answering email about your pet. Here is phone# 765-494-1107. We saw Dr. Meler. But they have several specialist and might be able to help long distance. Can you get the message to Ann Marie?
Our prayers are with Tigger.

Tigger is such a great dog, and it’s difficult to see him in pain. I hope there is lots of TLC for him and that he gets well soon. Wish I was I was a Vet.

We LOVE Tigger! We even contemplated giving our Bernese Mtn Dogs honorary mohawks after returning from st john, but our dogs aren’t nearly as cool as Tigger. Our hope and prayers are with Tigger that he’s up and jumping around again real soon.

Anne Marie should call Spring Harbor Veterinary Clinic, right here in beautiful, albeit, snowy Madison, Wisconsin. It is one of the premier clinics for dogs in the Midwest. Their number is 608-238-3461. I’m sure that they would have some insight.
Best wishes to the pup.

We hope Tigger recovers soon.
We stayed on Tortola last July at the Agape Cottages. Dr. Dave Baldwin is a retired veterinarian and owner of Agape. He is a wonderful man, and may be willing to give some input that could help Tigger. I have attached their website should Anne Marie be interested.

So sorry to hear of Tigger! Get well, buddy!
This may or may not help but in my years as a vet tech, we treated many paralyzed/incapacitated animals with accupuncture. I don’t know if there are any certified vets (maybe on STT or Tortola?) but it’s worth looking into.
The International Veterinary Accupuncture Association (http://www.ivas.org/) is very good about responding and consulting with other veterinarians with or without accupuncture experience.

I am asking the help of ANY VET who has experience with this disease to e-mail me. Dr. Laura is currently consulting with the Unviersity of Penn Nurologist. Up until this point, all tests have come back negative. I appreciate all of your prayers, well wishes and thoughts. Tigger is still with us, and figthting. Kathy Newman is coming over this afternoon to massage Tigger, and administer accpuncture. THANKS KATHY!

My girlfriends and I met Tigger last October while at the Beach Bar. We still all laugh when we tell the story of how a dog with a mohawk was waiting to take a shower after us. We are all huge dog lovers and send out of prayers to Tigger and his family.

My family comes down every year after Christmas. My 18 month old son saw Tigger on the beach this year for the first time and he chased after - Tigger was quite the gentleman. I wish him all the best!

I hope he gets better. We met him while on vacation and I think he greeted us daily on our way to the Beach Bar. He is an awesome dog.

Tigger is such a “cool” dog. We have shared quite a few secret meals at the beach bar while both of us looked over our shoulder and always on the lookout for the secret food police inspectors. Sure hope he is jumping and running into the water real soon!
