After climbing around the red rocks on this hike, you’ll enjoy an easy stroll across two little beaches, Little Reef Bay and Genti Bay. Then it’s back into the woods for a short hike to the ruins. That’s where we pick up. RBCH, Part Two below!

Many, many years ago I hiked down the Reef Bay Trail. At the time, the great house was roped off for renovation. Ignoring the yellow tape & “danage” signs, we forged ahead. There was an old plank across the open structure, which I proceeded to walk across without thinking. The plank started to bow, and when I looked down, I saw thousands of BATS! Everyone held their breath until I reached the other side. I still get the shivers thinking about the thought of falling into the pit with thousands of bats, while the others hiked back up the trail for help. That cured me of hiking! Those bats are so discusting!
Oh my! If Gretchen was posting her messages at 1:36 than I imagine she won the purse! I was too super bowl logged to check last night. Sigh. Jeff and Russ, I love your site and all the clips you all do, but I think I have a serious addiction to all things St. John. I can’t wait to take the hike. I have heard if you get lucky during a rain storm you get to see a waterfall near the petroglyphs. I would just be happy to be there at anytime. Thanks all!
Another great installment! You guys do a really nice job. I’m aslo with Teresa, I’m addicted to everything St. Johyn.
The petroglyphs should be cool, when I was there it was DRY, but there was a whole colony of hermit crabs which were really cool. Anyway, yeah I heard it does waterfall and that would be neat to see.
