Surf’s TOO up, dude!
North Shore beaches have been a sliver of themselves the last couple of days after a weather thingy pushed through the islands, leaving unusually high waves in its wake. Great Cruz Bay is even catching some of it. This is the mouth of Great Cruz Bay, where the rockin’ got so bad that our friend Maddie, the liveaboard lab, and lots of other boaters moved as far in as they could so as not to loose their lunch. If this keeps up, Virgin Grande Estates can start marketing itself as Beachfront Property.
Supposed to subside this weekend.

The weather thingy really doesn’t seem too bad in Frank Bay or Cruz Bay, but it’s just wild on the North Shore. The surfers are delighted. Also, it’s a good opportunity for people to wear those sweatshirts and sweaters that we hardly ever need.

I’m headed to St. John’s tomorrow for the first time-and am surprised to read about needing to wear a sweater or sweatshirt…hoping to get some snorkeling in before we leave on Thursday!!! Where is the best place if Northern beaches are so wild?

The best place to snorkle will probably be Salt Pond Bay, the east end (such ss Haulover), and Lameshur bay.

I was at Lameshure- and so were a couple hundred others- word got out it was the only calm snorkeling spot.

Well, I guess there was a (small) following for the Love City Surf Shack when it was is business - We were considering it last year, but, we were told that there was really no waves on the islands - correct me if I am wrong. My husband is a advid surfer and it would have been a life long dream - well, things happen for a reason.

Cinnamon Bay was awesome! Surfers riding big waves, not much beach. Salt Pond was fine, but EVERYONE was there! Two days later, everything was back to normal.
