It was cut with loppers only removing the invasive brushy weeds which primarily is Tan/Tan "wild Tameran" With the island sliding into a sever drought most of the slush vegitation had already gone dorment. When the rains return this side will really look pretty good! It was not weed wacked though I agree that once the brushy stuff was removed it looked pretty bare. We try to not make a site look clearcut, but this site had no landscaping vegitation what so ever. Something to be delt with as the Virgin Islands Research Station intends to make this a classroom in the not to distant future. Other ruins restoration project photos are availabe by contacting me at JeffChabot@aol.com and requesting to be added to the Volunteer update list. Hi Respondents

Pick-up and departure is promptly 8am at the Park Maintenance Lot, then 8:15 at Cinnamon Bay Camp and 8:30 at Maho then to the work site. The Saturday March 29th work project will be the Cinnamon Bay Grave sites both by the Slave Hut to the right of the Mill and the set of graves on the interpretive trail. We will be leaving the Park Maintenance Lot by 8:15 and going directly to the Cinnamon Bay work site ONLY. PS if you have not been out on a hike recently plan on visiting the Murphy Great House off the Johnny Horn Trail- it's spectacular!
