Coral Bay bus stop mural gone

Now that’s a shame. The Judge Not bus stop in Coral Bay with it’s “eat organic” message has just been painted over. Completely painted over. In white. The mural is lost forever.

But! The “turn tragedy into commerce” boys that we are, look what we stumbled across. The mural is preserved in the form of a mouse pad. You can get one at a store in Coral Bay called Awl Made Here.

Now I know what happen to the 5 gals of off-white paint that was stolen from the jobsite.
Next time I’m over that way I’ll have to pick a couple of the mouse pads.

So sad! Why does everything have to be so bland? Where is the island charm?

Sad, but cool that Awl Made Here had the foresight to take a pic!! That’s a neat little shop!

I want to know who is responsible for the recent sanitization of STJ? Who is the nincompoop who tjhinks that getting rid of the local charm is a good thing?

It goes from being the coolest place to wait for the bus, to an open outhouse that smells.
Why would anyone think that this is better?

It looks awfully bland now. Maybe someone else will paint a new mural? They could have student artists submit ideas/draft drawings in a contest and let the winner repaint the bus stop.

I just have to log on to second the comments of Lynn Blaisdell & Lysa. It must have been painted by the same group that wants all those monster buildings in Cruz Bay. Watch out St. John.

Islanddaisy -I am fairly sure that the painting of a bus stop will not cause the demise of the island.

It was local color but now it has changed and hopefully someone will come along and paint it again.
I prefer the old way, but I am sure something will come of it!

Sorry to be so positive, my glass is half full……of rum

I see that the bus stops are now in vivid VITRAN colors.(orange stripe and all) I guess we now know who painted them…
