Palm Springs meets St. John. I’d feel like a member of the Rat Pack in that place! Truly spectacular. Although the twin beds gave me a bit of an “institution” feeling, I’m sure I’d get over it!
How much does it cost just to rent out that chaise thingy on the upper terrace? I could be happy there!

As a builder and student of architecture, and a casual (and often amused) observer of St. John construction, I have one question.
Who in the heck on that island had the kahonas to try to build this?

The owners of this house definitely made it all come together. Cohones, yes, but also a great design sense and interest in the process. Oh, and a lot of patience!
We love having such open-minded clients, and it was great to see them as excited about the unfolding design as we were. We welcome more clients wanting to do something ‘different’- this is the fun stuff!
The contractor was Ned Gerard, ‘Iroquois Builders’. The workers showed up every day to the site excited, waiting to see what sort of structural gymnastics they’d be casting in concrete that day.
Thanks to everyone who loves the house- it’s one of my favorites too!

Here in Las Vegas, we are loaded with mid-century modern architecture…but this is one of the best modern interpretations of midmod styling that I’ve seen. Put it up against anything you can find in Palm Springs, but with just the right amount of St. John style mixed on. absolutely love it.
Oh, and Ted…I’m hoping to study architecture soon. are you hiring?
