Oh! Showing their stripe(s)

So that’s the deal. The Vitran bus line is who gave the Coral Bay bus stop a primer coat. And now it’s final paint job to sort of match its bus theme. Give it a few weeks. That’s ripe canvas.
The reason this bus stop is built like a brick shithouse may be because the Vitran bus driver, who is talking on his or her cell phone, may very well just slam right into it. We’ve been run off the road more than once by the Vitran bus, whose drivers have their own interpretation of what the yellow line means. A dollar will get you from Cruz Bay to Salt Pond, but it’s a venture we’ve never taken. Share your experiences if you have one!

I thought the Vitran bus mainly carried illegal aliens from Coral Bay to the ferry dock! They might not want to share, it rarely ends well for them.

The bus is cool. You get to ride in a vehicle that only fears conrete trucks. It’s a nice change.
I just wish they had seat belts.

Is Red Stripe beer one of the Vitran sponsors?

holy s*@t! we stayed out in coral one nye without a car because the rental place didnt hold my reservation, so our only means of getting to cruz in the morning was the bus! NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN! i would rather walk to cruz from coral than ride that bus. it took a good hour to recoop from the ride into town. beware of the orange stripe and the crazy drivers!

At least it blends well with the natural surroundings.

We’ve taken the bus dozens and dozens of times.. the trips have ranged from pleasant and relaxing to white knuckle trips when the issue wasn’t WHETHER we are going to die but WHEN are we going to die… We’ve been on buses that have broken down…on buses when they have been in accidents… buses that have stopped mid-route to be serviced…buses with surly drivers…buses with kind and helpful drivers…buses filled with kids… buses filled with tourists… buses filled with old people… almost empty buses…I could go on and on.
If you decide to go for the experience, be brave and prepared to play the island version of “guess how many buses are running today and what is the schedule?” If there are two buses running then it’s a pretty easy system to use. If only one you’ll probably find yourself hitching, hiking, or taking up residence in one of the newly decorated bus shelters while you look down the road, hoping for the next bus… (which will most certainly arrive moments after you’ve gotten another ride)

Wow! Home Depot is giving free samples!?! Maybe we should paint our villa that color. Seems to clash with the church and the pink house right above it, though.

Awhile back while coming home from work I gave a lift to a couple of tourists standing at the corner. They had been waiting for Vitran for three hours. When it finally arrived the driver wouldn’t let them on because they had luggage! They had sailed in with a friend and were trying to get to STT, of course they had
luggage! I’ll bet it wasn’t Brady driving.
