Villa Vittles: Jalapeño, chicken, bacon thingies

How often do you get the chance to grill bacon? This snack, submitted by an On-StJohn.com reader only known to us only as lovestj and Bill, includes peppers, last night’s chicken, cream cheese and bacon. Check ‘em out.

And Bill, send us an email. We owe you a T-shirt.

Looks like you need an ice cold beer nearby for this dish!!!

Be careful with the jalapeno juice! I’ve had relatives incur some serious burns from hot pepper juice while canning…a pair of surgical gloves might helpful….and beer!!!

Mary Beth - I was just getting ready to post the same thing. Feels like your eyes are on fire and lasts a long, long time. You can’t get all of it off by washing either.

    Those do look good, though.

At the risk of being crude, we used to call such things “bung burners,” because you’re guaranteed to feel them again the next day or two in the potty. Enjoy!~

I’m too slow! Just getting around to making the peanut butter chicken thingies this weekend, now I have to add this to my list. I’ll throw in some Red Stripes, and we’ll have an Island Saturday! Cheers!

1 more thing… Since I’m a complete spice wimp, I think I’ll try using jumbo shrimp instead of the jalapeno, and shred the chicken… we’ll see if it works.

We had family over this past Sunday and cooked up a big batch of this… yummy! Need to talk Lori into going for the chicken satay pizza… she’s not a big fan of the peanut butter in cooking…

You guys are really working this angle - do you even have a job back on the mainland?
