Jake’s (formerly Chilly Billy’s) opens tomorrow

The old Chilly Billy’s space is open for business again, starting Wednesday morning as “Jake’s”, named after Jake, the son of owners Carl and Shaun (related story.) Jake’s will start with a hearty breakfast menu until 2 p.m. Lunch and dinner ‘til 10 p.m. will be added soon. Check out the breakfast menu, here.
Jake, the restaurant’s namesake, turned 1 year old May 1st. Nice birthday present kid.

Too cute!!! Didn’t we all say they should name it Jakes? Best of luck to them. We’ll have to stop by there before we leave.

Will try it next trip, but breakfast menu is not too inspired, kind of more of the same. Needs to be more creative. Regardless, it should be an improvement over the last year at Chilly Billy’s-gone-downhill. Emily

I am glad to hear this. We head down on the 14th and that was always our breakfast place. Now I can keep with my morning routine.

I guess I am used to Baked in the sun and Deii Grotto……Jakes seem $$$$…..
Jake is a cutie………happy belated bday to the guy.

Thanks Rosi. $12.00 for chocolate chip pancakes seems pretty Caneel-like to me too.

Cute little pirate!

Best of Luck. I think the menu is a little pricey as well but I might try it.

$30 for pancakes and coffee for 2. Ouch!
I hope it’s real Vermont maple syrup…

Pricey, even by St.John standards.
May 7th, 2008 07:07
The prices do seem high, but maybe the portions are huge and you won’t need lunch! Im sure we will give them a try.

Thanks for the good luck wishes. We hope you all give us a try. The portions are generous and we think well worth the price but please come see for yourself.

Just had breakfast (again) at Jake’s - won’t have to eat again til dinner. HUGE portions served by very friendly staff. Noticed comments about prices but feel they’re on point as I’m sure, in light of increasing costs everywhere, other breakfast venues’ prices will soon be increasing!

Just returned from STJ. Ate at Jake’s 5 times. The new owners are doing a great job. The new opened up space and Cruz Bay water overlook bar for seating really add to the atmosphere. The food is delicious and worth the price. They offer a variety of omelets, which I sampled, and specials almost every day. Large quantities, friendly staff. I would highly recommend it!!!
